What do 71 New Volunteers, 22 volunteering events happening throughout the year (and growing!) and 24 hours of action add up to?
THANK YOU so much for all of you who participated in this year’s National Day of Action at Ecofest.
Not only were we able to find many new people who want to advance the common good, we were able to help teach hundreds how they can give, advocate, and volunteer in the community.
Remember: just because the day is over does not mean you can’t get involved. Just click on the volunteer button above, and you can access our opportunities anytime.
And we still have the myspace page, which we will update periodically

AIDS Ministries/AIDS Assist of North Indiana, Inc.
A woman, five months pregnant, tested positive for HIV. During her emotional struggle dealing with her recent diagnosis she lost her job, had no savings, rent and utilities were overdue , had no insurance and she had grave concerns about her unborn infant. The father of the baby left as a result of her diagnosis after he tested negative to HIV.
Direct Emergency Financial Assistance (DEFA) of AIDS Ministries was help to assist here with an immediate need and approved her for rent and utility assistance. AIDS worked with the landlord and housing was maintained. Utility companies were called and were not disconnected. Assistance for an initial physician visit was also approved. Prophylactic medications were also secured through the DEFA program. The woman was able to receive Medicaid assistance and receive medication that would protect the infant.
She delivered a healthy baby girl, is living with a healthy immune system , is working full time and in a housing program thanks to the emergency financial assistance and the case management of AIDS Ministries/AIDS Assist of North Indiana, Inc.
