Are you or someone you know struggling to pay heating bills each winter?
Team HEAT, part of the Community Access Network (CAN), matches each $50 you pay towards your monthly heating bill.
You are eligible for Team HEAT assistance if you are a St. Joseph County resident and your income is at or below 250% of poverty.*
CAN Family Development Programs are designed to assist you in achieving your goals. If you are accepted into the Team HEAT program, you will work each month with a CAN Case Coordinator on a goal plan. If you qualify, you will be asked to apply for LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) and complete a free budgeting or similar financial education class within 30 days of receiving your first $50 match assistance.
Program benefits available November 1, 2012 through April 1, 2013. Applications accepted starting October 29, 2012. Limited slots available.
*For more details, to see if you qualify, and to register through the CAN (Community Access Network) database, call United Way 2-1-1.
