ABOUT TEAM HEAT
Team HEAT, part of the Community Access Network (CAN), matches each $50 you pay towards your monthly heating bill.

You are eligible for Team HEAT assistance if you are a St. Joseph County resident and your income is at or below 250% of poverty.*

CAN Family Development Programs are designed to assist you in achieving your goals. If you are accepted into the Team HEAT program, you will work each month with a CAN Case Coordinator on a goal plan. If you qualify, you will be asked to apply for LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) and complete a free budgeting or similar financial education class within 30 days of receiving your first $50 match assistance.

ADOPT A FAMILY
Many families are struggling to pay their heating bills this winter. Join Team HEAT to “Adopt a Family” and HEAT a home! For $300 or $60 dollars per month (November—March) you can provide a family with 5 months of assistance, which includes:

• $50 match each month on client’s first $50 paid towards his/her heating bill
• Monthly meetings with a Case Coordinator to work on a plan of action
• A financial/budgeting class and the invitation to work with an ongoing financial fitness program

Team HEAT helps families stay warm during the winter heating season, learn about budgeting and get the support they need. Your dollars will help a family on our waiting list.
