2-1-1 is the national designated number for information and referral across the country. Easy to recognize and easy to remember, 2-1-1 enables you to find services in our community quickly and efficiently.
United Way 2-1-1 has the most comprehensive information and referral database in St. Joseph County and can help those in need locate human, health, and social services. 2-1-1 currently lists 609 Agencies in the St. Joseph County database that represent 1,878 Programs available in our community.
United Way 2-1-1 gives community members one number to call (2-1-1) when they need to access services, or when they want to make a meaningful contribution of time and goods. United Way 2-1-1 brings people and services together by paving the way into the service delivery system.
2-1-1 FamilyWise Discount Prescription Cards
United Way of St. Joseph County and 2-1-1 continue to distribute discount prescription cards for those in need who do not have prescription insurance. These cards save people 20-50% off the cost of prescriptions.
In May 2010, over 2,000 St. Joseph County residents utilized the discount prescription cards through United Way 2-1-1 and saved $32,378.20 total on their prescriptions. The average dollar amount saved per prescription was $14.10, or 33%.
